Summary of the plot:
After a terrible car crash that left his beloved wife badly burned. Ever since Dr. Robert Ledgard (Antonio Banderas), a genius plastic surgeon, has been experimenting to devise a new skin that could save burn victims. After 12 long years, Ledgard finally makes a skin that protects the body but still can feel touch. He conducts experiments on Vera (Elena Anaya), who’s trapped in his home against her will.

Control & obsession play a huge role here. Dr. Ledgard's never-ending need to make perfect skin has some creepy consequences. The movie explores how we need to balance science and ethics.

Characters:
Dr. Robert Ledgard: Antonio Banderas brings this mysterious surgeon to life with a strong performance—his intensity is truly unsettling.
Vera: Elena Anaya shows both sensitivity & strength at the same time. She changes from being a victim to someone much more complicated with secret motives.
Pedro Almodóvar directs the film with his bold storytelling style. He mixes melodrama, thriller, & horror beautifully, and his eye for detail adds depth to the film.
